Gov. Evers Releases Statement on Supreme Court’s Decision in California v. Texas
MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today released the following statement regarding the Supreme Court of the United States’ decision in California v. Texas, an effort supported by Republicans to gut the Affordable Care Act and protections for 2.4 million Wisconsinites who have pre-existing conditions. In 2019, Gov. Evers kept his promise to withdraw Wisconsin from the lawsuit after being sworn in as governor.
“I was proud to deliver on my promise to withdraw from this lawsuit and protect healthcare access for the 2.4 million Wisconsinites who have pre-existing conditions,” said Gov. Evers. “Healthcare isn’t just for the healthy and wealthy, and today’s decision is a critically important victory for our work to make sure everyone has access to quality, affordable healthcare coverage.”NOTE: This press release was submitted to Urban Milwaukee and was not written by an Urban Milwaukee writer.
