Rep. Hintz: Applauds Gov. Evers’ Support for Wisconsin Small Businesses
MADISON – Representative Gordon Hintz (D-Oshkosh) released the following statement on Governor Tony Evers’ announcement of a $100 million investment in Wisconsin’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic:
“I applaud Governor Evers’ investment of Wisconsin’s federal relief funds to support our economic recovery in a way that responds to the needs of small businesses and communities statewide and ensures that recovery works for everyone. This announcement responds to difficult economic realities in Wisconsin’s main street communities and honors the struggles that Wisconsin’s small businesses have faced as they sought to protect their workers and customers from COVID-19 while still running their businesses over the past year.“It has been disappointing to see legislative Republicans continue to play politics with Wisconsin’s COVID-19 response and undermine Governor Evers’ efforts to respond to Wisconsin’s needs in this pandemic. I am grateful that Gov. Evers focused on making decisions that put the health, safety, and economic recovery of our state first, despite these Republican efforts.”
