Help catch those responsible for the murder of Nevaeha Ware

Statement of Alderman Cavalier Johnson January 14, 2021

By - Jan 14th, 2021 09:58 am

I am pleading for the public’s help to find those responsible for the murder of 13-year-old Nevaeha Ware, who was killed in a shooting this past weekend in the 2nd Aldermanic District.

Milwaukee Police reported that Nevaeha was seated in a vehicle in the 6500 block of W. Congress St. when someone in a dark-colored vehicle with tinted windows drove up and opened fire at approximately 6:45 a.m. on Saturday (January 9th).

I have Nevaeha’s loved ones in my prayers, and I ask that the community offer prayers and condolences at this time. The senseless murder of anyone so young is gut wrenching, and all Milwaukeeans must work to seek non-violent ways to solve conflicts and to push back against any ‘normal’ where guns are part of daily life.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family to help pay for funeral expenses: gofundme.com/f/nevaeha-ware-funeral-expenses.

I ask that anyone with any information contact MPD immediately at (414) 935-7360 or Crime Stoppers at (414) 224-TIPS or P3 Tips App for a cash reward.
