Chris Moews Delivers Nomination Signatures; Ready to Bring Needed Change to Sheriff’s Office
Moews will now be on the ballot for the August 12 Democratic primary.
Milwaukee – Milwaukee Police Lieutenant Chris Moews (maize), candidate for Milwaukee County Sheriff, today delivered the maximum allowed 1,000 signatures to the Milwaukee County Election Commission. Moews will now be on the ballot for the August 12 Democratic primary.
“For the past year, I’ve been talking with people in every community across this county, and one thing is clear: Milwaukee County is ready for a new sheriff,” said Moews. “I look forward to the campaign that’s ahead of us, and I look forward to a rich debate with David Clarke about what’s best for the people of Milwaukee County.”
“The current sheriff has shown repeatedly that political grandstanding is more important that public safety, that managing his budget takes a back seat to political rhetoric, and that focusing on running for mayor is more important than performing the duties of being sheriff,” said Sachin Chheda, campaign manager for the Moews campaign. “Milwaukee County deserves better. Chris Moews will bring a new collaborative and responsible style of leadership to the Sheriff’s Office.”
The partisan primary election will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2014.
Chris Moews is a life-long resident of Milwaukee County and a decorated Lieutenant in the Milwaukee Police Department. He is an expert instructor in law enforcement tactics, was recently named Homicide Investigator of the Year, and lives with his wife and two sons in Milwaukee’s Jackson Park neighborhood.
