Incident at Milwaukee County Jail

(Milwaukee, WI November 24, 2020) A 38-year-old man detained at the Milwaukee County Jail was transported to an area hospital this afternoon. Correctional officers had entered his one-person cell and found him unresponsive with a ligature around his neck. Lifesaving measures were initiated at the scene, and the Milwaukee Fire Department arrived, located a pulse, and transported the man to the hospital, where he is in critical condition.

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is conducting an investigation into this incident.
