MADISON – Gov. Tony Evers announced today his appointment of Jack L. Dávila as Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge. The appointment fills a vacancy created by the appointment of Judge Maxine White to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, District 1.

“More than ever, we need judges who treat everyone fairly – regardless of background – and understand the challenges facing our communities. Jack Dávila will do just that, having dedicated his life to serving others,” said Gov. Evers.

Since 2011, Dávila has represented workers, injured persons, and people with disabilities. He currently is a partner with the Previant Law Firm. Dávila is a volunteer with Voces de la Frontera Legal Clinic and the Volunteer Legal Clinic at the United Community Center. He also serves on the board of Voces de le Frontera Action and is a consultant attorney to the Mexican Consulate in Milwaukee.

“Jack Dávila is a welcome addition to the Milwaukee County Circuit Court,” said Judge Pedro Colón. “He is as highly respected in the legal community as he is in the overall community. He has sound legal skills as well as a good sense of justice. He will make a great judge.”

“I am humbled and honored by this opportunity to serve the citizens of Milwaukee County as a circuit court judge,” said Dávila. “I pledge to work hard every single day to ensure that everyone who enters the courtroom, regardless of who they are or where they are from, is treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.”

Dávila is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Marquette University Law School. Prior to law school, Dávila served in the U.S. Army as a Spanish linguist. He lives in Milwaukee with his family.
