The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra is Canceling All Performances and Events Through the End of the 2019-20 Season

By - Apr 6th, 2020 11:19 am

April 6, 2020 – As the safety of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s audience, musicians, visiting guest artists, staff, and greater community is the orchestra’s top priority, the Milwaukee Symphony has made the difficult decision to cancel all performances, events, and educational activities through the end of the 2019-20 season as we do our part to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

For the list of performances and events affected, please visit www.mso.org/patron-alerts.

Due to the financial impact of concert cancellations on the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, we ask patrons, whenever possible, to consider exchanging their tickets for gift certificates that may be used for performances next season or donating back the tickets (and receive a tax deduction for the total ticket value).

To request a gift certificate or donate the tickets back to the MSO, patrons should complete the online form at www.mso.org/donate-tickets.

If patrons choose to consider exchanges toward gift certificates, those gift certificates will be valid for the next 5 years, including concerts during the inaugural 2020.21 season at the Bradley Symphony Center. Patrons may also use the certificate toward the cost of a subscription to the 2020.21 season.

Patrons may choose to donate their tickets back to the MSO as a tax-deductible donation equal to the total ticket value. To do this, patrons simply have to do nothing. If patrons would like to request a mailed acknowledgement of their donation for tax records, they must complete the online form at mso.org/donate-tickets and we will mail a donation receipt within 30 days.

Requests for refunds must be made by emailing MSO Ticket Office at tickets@mso.org. We are experiencing an extremely high volume of email communications, and we are grateful for patience during this time. For patrons with tickets to one performance, we ask that they wait and contact us the week before their previously scheduled concert. All refunds will be processed within 30 days of the original concert date.

These are unprecedented times, and we are deeply grateful for everyone’s support and patience as we work through these challenges. We already miss performing in front of our fantastic audience, and we look forward to being back in the concert hall. Please continue to follow us on social media and keep connected through email. As always, current information will be available on our website at www.mso.org.
