Find Us at Concordia University: An Afternoon of Americana

Mequon – On Sunday, October 27th at 2:00 PM Wisconsin Music Ventures will host a free small-scale concert at Concordia University (12800 N Lake Shore Drive). The afternoon will feature soloists Scott Lowery on guitar, and Eric Langford on mandolin.
The event will take place outdoors at the Lakeshore Bluff Amphitheatre (bring chairs) area unless the temperatures that day are under 60 degrees; in that case it will be inside at the school’s chapel. Signs will be posted.
Scott Lowery recently moved to Wauwatosa from SE Minnesota, where he’s been performing hillbilly heirloom classics, pan-fried blues, and organic originals for the past 20 years. Scott enjoys playing outdoors at farmer’s markets, pizza nights and backyard barbecues, and will plan to bring along extra implements of percussion, in case anyone wants to sit in with him. He’s a charter member of the Beef Slough Boys, Turkey Creek and Northern Shoveler, with tracks available online from all of these groups. He plays six- and twelve-string guitar, harmonica, kazoo, tin whistle, and washboard.
Eric Langford of Waukesha plays mandolin in the bluegrass tradition: old tunes fused with elements of jazz, blues, and swing; moods ranging from haunting melodies to upbeat stomps. Eric was a member of the award-winning Liberty Bluegrass Band and has performed with several groups in the area.
