MCSO Issued More Than 100 Citations In Construction Work Zones
The highest fine was $456, for driving 84 MPH in a 50 MPH construction zone.
MILWAUKEE, WI – (September 10, 2019) The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office public safety message to the motoring public is “Stay alive, and slow-down in construction work zones. Drivers who do not obey the laws of the road will be ticketed.” Deputies issued 146 citations to motorists between Friday, September 6 and Monday, September 9, 2019.
On Friday, 41 citations were issued, on Saturday, 51 on Sunday, 49 and on Monday, 5 citations were issued for a variety of traffic and road violations. Those violations included, but are not limited to unreasonable and imprudent speed to unsafe lane changing. Three motorists were cited for driving 34 MPH over the speed limit. The highest fine was $456, for driving 84 MPH in a 50 MPH construction zone.
MCSO reminds the motoring public to take public safety messages seriously. Stay alive, slow down and use extra caution in work zones, whether construction workers are present or not.
