UPDATE – MCSO Has Suspect in Custody

Milwaukee, WI (August 6, 2019) On Tuesday, August 6, at approximately 3:07 a.m., a deputy observed an abandoned vehicle in the median of the off-ramp at westbound I-94 and Hawley Rd. Shortly thereafter, deputies and Milwaukee police officers were notified via dispatch that a caller residing on Hawley Rd. had reported contact with an individual on foot, who was behaving erratically and reporting involvement in a freeway crash.
As squads responded to this address, they were notified that the Milwaukee Police Department had made contact with occupants of a second vehicle which had exited I-94 at the Hawley Rd. off-ramp. The occupants of this vehicle reported that they had observed a male subject abandon his vehicle on the off-ramp and enter a wooded area adjacent to the ramp. At this time, the subject fired multiple shots at the second vehicle.
The suspect in this incident had been taken into custody by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
