MCSO Arrest Wrong Way Driver for 2nd & Reckless Endangering Safety

Milwaukee, WI (July 23^rd, 2019) At approximately 1:49 a.m. this morning, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), responded to a wrong way driver traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I 794 near West Howard Avenue. Upon the Deputies arrival, the vehicle was stopped and facing in the wrong direction.

The driver, Michael G. Waite, displayed indicators of impairment and was arrested for OWI -2^nd and 2^nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety (RES).  The RES charge carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison.

There were no injuries or crashes with this incident.
