Waukesha, Wis. (May 28, 2019) – Kersten Kruse joins the MorganMyers team as the 2019 summer communications intern at the firm’s Waukesha office.
Kruse is a junior studying journalism, law and economics at Central Michigan University (CMU) in Mount Pleasant, Mich. She will work with multiple MorganMyers clients this summer including the Illinois Soybean Association, Illinois Farm Families, the SCN Coalition and Lesaffre. In addition to client projects, Kruse will help strengthen MorganMyers’ presence on several platforms.
The Macomb, Mich. native is versed in a variety of communications skills, including graphic design, news writing and digital communications. She has also served in several positions at Central Michigan Life, the CMU newspaper.
At the newspaper, she started as a reporter and was promoted twice within the past year, first as a special sections editor and then to social media editor. As social media editor, Kruse managed social channels that engaged over 100,000 viewers per week. Since leaving the paper, Kruse has established relationships with multiple clients and operates as a freelance social media strategist. She is eager to use her knowledge to promote the MorganMyers brand and clients.
“We are excited about Kersten’s experience with social and written media,” says Tim Oliver, MorganMyers president. “Our internship program is a great way to build on pre-existing skills like hers by offering hands-on, portfolio-worthy projects students will remember for the rest of their careers.”
