NEW BERLIN, WISCONSIN (April 18, 2019) – Heritage Deer Creek, a Heritage Senior Living community, announced today that Kamia Beasley, MSN, RN, CNE was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Delta Gamma at Large Chapter. This elite international professional honor society has constituent chapters in collegiate schools of nursing and is open to students, faculty and community leaders.

Kamia is Heritage Deer Creek’s Director of Nursing and is currently working toward her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Alverno College School of Nursing and expects to graduate in December of 2019. In order to be eligible for induction into Sigma Theda Tau, students must be enrolled in the graduate academic program, completed at minimum one quarter of their graduate program and maintain a 3.5 grade point or higher.  Professors recommend students for induction and academic excellence and commitment to the nursing profession are primary criteria for acceptance.

“This is a remarkable achievement and a true testament to Kamia’s excellence in leadership and professionalism. We are fortunate to have someone with her level of skill and integrity leading our clinical team at Heritage Deer Creek,” said Connie Knapp, Executive Director.

“It is an honor and a privilege for me to be invited to join this prestigious honor society. My father has a Phd in Philosophy and he inspired me to keep advancing my knowledge and skills. I worked my way up from certified nursing assistant to licensed practical nurse and will receive my doctorate in nursing upon completion of the program. It is wonderful to be recognized for all my hard work in this way,” said Beasley, Director of Nursing.
