Milwaukee Aces Establishes National Exposure with New League
Aces Owner Bernell Hooker named Director of Community Engagement
MILWAUKEE, WI (November 20, 2018) When the Milwaukee Aces take the court May 2019, they will continue to make history by arriving to their fifth season as a Professional Women’s Basketball Team, longer than the historical 1978-1980 Milwaukee Does.
Two different era’s but same passion. Creating a level of Professional Women’s Basketball for Wisconsin. “Times have changed. The Women’s Sports Industry is growing. It took many trials and errors, ups and downs to come this far but we are now in a position for national exposure and competitive play with the WBDA.” Hooker says.
“I am very excited to welcome the Milwaukee Aces to the WBDA. To be able to add a professional team with great ownership that agrees with our vision, will make our organization stronger. I look forward to them being an elite team in 2019.” William Kelly, owner/CEO of the new Women’s Basketball Development Association (WBDA).
Formerly the Women’s Basketball Blue Chip League, Williams is the new owner whose plan is “to continue the success and history of the original women’s basketball development league… while adding value and support to team owners and players.”
Kelly has surrounded himself with team of professionals that are sure to take the WBDA to great heights. That includes Hooker as the Associations Director of Community Engagement. Her role will engage the 40 plus teams to get out into the public and help find a way to give the fans the best basketball experience. “This is what I do with the Aces and through my nonprofit IOU Sports. To bring and share my role as a Sports Executive with the WBDA will only leverage the Business sector and family entertainment in each community.” Bernell Hooker, Aces Owners and Founder/ CEO Images of Us (IOU) Sports.
