Another GOP candidate declines to challenge Tammy Baldwin
"The weak field of GOP candidates willing to challenge Tammy Baldwin continues to dwindle with Rep. Dale Kooyenga declining to run."
MADISON — State Representative Dale Kooyenga (R-Brookfield) announced today he wouldn’t challenge Tammy Baldwin in the 2018 Senate race. Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokeswoman Gillian Drummond issued the following statement on yet another potential GOP candidate declining to run:
“The weak field of GOP candidates willing to challenge Tammy Baldwin continues to dwindle with Rep. Dale Kooyenga declining to run. After boasting of their deep bench, Wisconsin Republicans have watched potential candidates decline to run and now have the former President of the College Democrats, who can’t decide when he became a Republican, as their only declared candidate.
“But no matter which billionaire’s puppet emerges, Tammy Baldwin will continue to fight for the people of Wisconsin, not the Washington special interests.”
