Saturday’s Art Walk offers colorful & fun cap to Bronzeville Week
There will also be a free trolley that will take people to the various Art Walk stops/locations.
The Bronzeville Art Walk – an event showcasing Milwaukee’s finest African American artists – will take place tomorrow (Saturday, August 12) as Bronzeville Week 2017 caps its final day.
Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs, the host of Bronzeville Week, an official City of Milwaukee event now in its fifth year, said the Art Walk will feature an expanded list of 13 various locations along N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Dr. between W. Hadley St. and W. McKinley Ave. Several new businesses and developments along that stretch will showcase a wide array of artwork Saturday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will also be a free trolley that will take people to the various Art Walk stops/locations.
The Art Walk is sponsored by Alderwoman Coggs, VISIT Milwaukee, the City of Milwaukee and the Historic King Drive BID.
The other Bronzeville Week 2017 events on Saturday feature food and exercise. The Bronzeville Black Food Truck Fest on Garfield Ave. (between N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. and 2nd St.) will start at 9 a.m. and will go until 5 p.m. with an array of delicious food offerings.
Individuals can enjoy a casual tour of the area by bicycle on Saturday during the Bronzeville Bike Ride starting at 10 a.m. at the Reader’s Choice Book Store, 1950 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr.
