Alderman José G. Pérez makes an onscreen appearance in the Walker’s Point episode of “Around the Corner” airing tomorrow (Thursday, February 7 at 7 p.m.) and Friday, February 8 (8 p.m.), on Milwaukee Public Television.

Alderman Pérez, whose 12th Aldermanic District includes the bustling, diverse, and historic Walker’s Point neighborhood, said he was honored to have been asked to be a part of the program. “I am humbled and thankful for all of the efforts that residents, business owners, and organizations put forth every day to make Walker’s Point the unique and great neighborhood that it is,” Alderman Pérez said. “And my contribution to the show is expressing to the wider viewing audience my deep pride and appreciation for everything that Walker’s Point is, and for all that it has to offer.”

In its second season, “Around the Corner” is hosted by east side native and Emmy-winning actor John McGivern, who takes viewers on a unique “field trip” through 13 diverse towns and neighborhoods, from Walker’s Point and Brady Street, to Sheboygan and Racine. According to the show’s MPTV web page, “McGivern discovers the secrets to living well, working hard, and playing merrily in all of these hometowns. Along the way, he bumps into local historian John Gurda who shares fascinating historical gems about town settlers, buildings, parks, and neighborhoods.”

Each episode of “Around the Corner” is broadcast on Milwaukee Public Television, Channel 10.1.
