Public meeting for WIS 36 (Loomis Road) resurfacing project in Milwaukee County
Open house to discuss design plans
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is announcing the second public involvement meeting to discuss the WIS 36 (Loomis Road) resurfacing project that extends from S. 51st Street to W. Fardale Avenue in Milwaukee County. The informal, open house meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Greenfield Public Library Community Room, 5310 W. Layton Avenue.
The purpose of the project is to make improvements to the existing roadway. The project was originally programmed as a full reconstruction, but has since been rescoped to a maintenance mill and overlay project. The project will remove two inches of the existing asphaltic surface and replace it with two inches of new pavement. The updated project will not extend outside the existing roadway footprint. No work will be done on the side streets, with the exception of Edgerton Avenue. The pavement on Edgerton Avenue will be replaced to the south of WIS 36 to the limits of a recent municipal project. No right of way acquisition or temporary easements are anticipated. The improvements are scheduled for construction in 2019.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning the proposed preferred improvements. Interested persons may stop in anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to review the displays, visit with the project team and share comments or concerns.
The meeting facility is wheelchair accessible. Persons who are deaf or hard of hearing who want to request an interpreter for the meeting should contact Mark Wilfert via the Wisconsin Telecommunication Relay System (dial 711). To allow time for arranging assistance, please call no later than three working days prior to the meeting.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, or would like more information, please contact Mark Wilfert at (262) 548-5936 or by email at mark.wilfert@dot.wi.gov. Written comments regarding the study can be mailed to Mark Wilfert, WisDOT, P.O. Box 798, Waukesha WI 53187-0798.
