Rep. Neylon Statement on WI Robotics League Participation Grant Program
"This new program provides grants to high school students all across Wisconsin for starting and participating in robotics competitions."
Madison – Today marks the one month deadline for applications to be considered for the Wisconsin Robotics League Participation grant program. In response to the approaching deadline, Rep. Adam Neylon (R-Pewaukee), the author of legislation to create the program, issued the following statement:
“Last year I worked together with a number of stakeholders in the Wisconsin robotics community, before authoring legislation to create the Wisconsin Robotics League Participation Grant Program. This new program provides grants to high school students all across Wisconsin for starting and participating in robotics competitions. With one month to go before the October 14th grant application deadline, I am hopeful these grants are the jump-start teams need to form teams and begin competing.
This program is a direct result of our dedication to advancing STEM education in Wisconsin. We want students to have access to hands on learning in creative ways. Robotics is a rapidly emerging technology in manufacturing and in the economy, as a whole. These robotics competitions are fun, but more importantly they introduce students to the skills and concepts they will need to succeed in the workforce of tomorrow.
The Department of Public Instruction is administering the program, visit http://dpi.wi.gov/stem/grants/robotic-league to learn more and access the application.
