Marquette College of Nursing receives U.S. Department of Education grant for graduate studies
The fellowship program will be directed by Dr. Margaret Bull, professor and director of the Ph.D. program.
MILWAUKEE – The College of Nursing has received a $442,917 Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need grant from the U.S. Department of Education to support three graduate fellows in the Ph.D. program. The fellowship program will be directed by Dr. Margaret Bull, professor and director of the Ph.D. program.
“The College of Nursing is delighted to receive the GAANN award. In addition to providing funds to cover tuition for full-time study, the GAANN provides an annual stipend of up to $34,000 depending on financial need. The three-year grant will help the college recruit students from underrepresented backgrounds,” Bull said.
“This competitive award recognizes the quality of our Ph.D. program and the potential of our graduates to attain faculty positions after graduation,” said Donna McCarthy, interim dean of the College of Nursing.
GAANN provides fellowships to assist graduate students with excellent records who demonstrate financial need and plan to pursue the highest degree available in their course study in a field designated as an area of national need.
