NEWaukee’s Friday Nights of Fun
Koss Lunar Series offers music, cocktails and great views of the sun setting and moon rising over Downtown.

Friday nights this summer, on the rooftop patio of the Milwaukee Athletic Club, a group of young professionals will be found unwinding after a long workweek. Starting June 20th and running until September 5th, the Koss Lunar Series will draw crowds of 200-300 people for an evening of entertainment.
The series, created by NEWaukee and sponsored by Koss, will be in its third year this summer. NEWaukee’s founder, Ian Abston, envisions this as a place where people can head after work, where they can “roll up their shirt sleeves,” and relax. There are networking opportunities for those interested, but otherwise guests can simply enjoy the music, the sunset and great views of Downtown from the rooftop, and the cocktails being served.
The event features all local musicians and DJs. According to Abston, the musical selection will be comprised of “unique flavors” that people have not necessarily heard of, all intended create a fun environment. Live music will be performed from 6-8 p.m., and a DJ will step in from 8-11 p.m.
Abston says that the idea originally developed as a way to bridge the generation gap between young professionals and the executives typically found at the Milwaukee Athletic Club. The event allows the two groups to mingle in a more social environment, rather than always “over desks,” he says.
Admission is free for all NEWaukee members, and becoming a member is as easy as signing up for their electronic newsletter.
Each evening will also have a community partner. Urban Milwaukee is the community partner on August 29th.
