An adventure in the making
Follow what happens when a 40-something mom and her 18-year old daughter hit the road for Bonnaroo.
Bonnaroo: 1. A music, comedy and film festival in the hills of Tennessee. 2. The place where Bonnaroovians gather annually to dance, sing, commune with nature and each other. 3. An adventure taken on by me, TCD writer and photographer Patti Wenzel, and my 18-year-old daughter Katie for an entire early June weekend.
This ought to be good.
This year’s Bonnaroo headliners include Red Hot Chili Peppers (we both love Anthony Kiedis), Alice Cooper, The Beach Boys (on their 50th Anniversary tour), Phish, Wisconsin’s own Bon Iver, and many others. Many of the performers are foreign to me, but many times when I listen to Katie’s iPod (that’s the daughter), I hear ghosts of some of my favorite artists like Led Zeppelin, The Who and Cream.
Throw in an art festival, shopping and tons of great food and Bonnaroo is everything a mom and daughter looking for an adventure can ask for. It also hits many of the same things we here at ThirdCoast Digest love, as do you, so tag along all weekend as Katie and I tweet our observations and some crazy photos from Bonnaroo.
Keep up to date at #TCDBonnaroo.
Hope you enjoy the adventure!
