Authentic European Christmas Market Experience to Return to Wauwatosa This Holiday Season
The Village Christmas Market will run from December 2 to December 6 on Harwood Avenue
WAUWATOSA, WISCONSIN, October 6, 2026—An authentically European holiday market experience will return to Wauwatosa in 2026 with the Village Christmas Market, being held December 2-6 in the Village of Wauwatosa.
The Milwaukee area’s most European-flavored downtown last hosted a Christmas Market in 2024, in the Harts Mills parking lot south of the Menomonee River. This year’s Market will be located in the heart of the Village on Harwood Avenue, just north of the river and train tracks. Harwood will be closed to traffic between Wauwatosa Avenue and State Street for the 5-day market experience.
The market will include:
• A heated beer hall tent in Root Common, at the intersection of Harwood and Wauwatosa avenues
• Food options such as crepes, pretzels, potato pancakes, flammenkuchen, sausage, and more, from renowned Village restaurant Le Reve Patisserie and Cafe and other specialty vendors
• Beverage vendors offering German beers, mulled wine, spiked cider, seasonal cocktails, and hot chocolate
• A unique, curated selection of artisan marketplace vendors offering handcrafted goods, European-inspired gifts, jewelry, seasonal items, specialty holiday treats, and more
• Live music and seasonal entertainment
• Santa will pay a visit to the Market every day, plus kids can drop a letter to Santa in the market’s mailbox and get a personalized response back
• Activities such as the Tosa Cookie Trail and an Ugly Sweater Contest will round out the schedule
“We can’t wait to welcome people to our charming, historic European-style Village,” said Maria Panno, director of the Wauwatosa Village Business Improvement District. “The Village is truly magical at the holidays, so it’s the perfect setting for something like this. There’s no better place to wander, sip something warm, shop for something special, and soak up the holiday spirit.”
This year’s Market will be hosted by the Village of Wauwatosa Business Improvement District—the same organization that puts on TosaFest, HartFest, Village al Fresco, and other popular Village events.
Market hours are:
• Wednesday, Dec. 2, 4-9 pm (the Tosa Village Tree Lighting will be held at 5 pm)
• Thursday, Dec. 3, 4-9 pm (the Tosa Cookie Trail will be held from 4-7 pm that day)
• Friday, Dec. 4, 12-10 pm
• Saturday, Dec. 5, 10 am-10 pm
• Sunday, Dec. 6. 12-8 pm
