Mount Mary Awarded Grants to Expand Innovative Healthcare Education

MILWAUKEE (Sept. 29, 2026)—Mount Mary University announced that it has been awarded a Title III Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP) grant for its proposal, The Next Generation of Care: Empowering Nurses Through Innovation and Education. The university was approved for Year 1 of the five-year project, receiving $1.86 million to support transformative initiatives in its nursing and healthcare programs. The grant will support the construction of an Integrated Health Education Center in the university’s former bookstore space and the creation of a mezzanine in the former Caroline Hall gymnasium. It will also enable the university to invest in AI-powered simulation software and hire a director and coordinator for the new Integrated Health Education Center.
Mount Mary also received a Nursing Workforce Development (NWD) award from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) totaling $555,372. The award will support the addition of a nursing faculty member and provide financial assistance to 26 students.
