Urban Milwaukee has launched new group membership options, allowing families, organizations and supporters to share access to trusted, local journalism.
Group memberships provide discounted full access for those who want two or more accounts.
Want access for you and your spouse? Choose a family membership, and each of you can configure your own daily email.
Part of an office where multiple people need access? Choose an organization membership and pick how many accounts you need.

Discounted pricing is available at each tier, ranging from 24% to 50% off, depending on how many memberships are purchased.
Each group membership provides full access to Urban Milwaukee’s in-depth reporting, analysis and member-exclusive benefits for every person included.
Family memberships start at $75 per user, down from $99 for an individual. Organization memberships with five or more users start at $60 per user. Organizations with 10 or more users pay just $50 per user.
These new options complement Urban Milwaukee’s existing monthly and annual individual memberships, offering more flexibility for households, workplaces and community groups that want to support local journalism together.
Membership support helps fund Urban Milwaukee’s independent reporting on city and county government, development, transportation, dining, culture and civic life.
Reader support is essential to the publication’s operation and pays for writer salaries, not dividends.
Group Membership FAQ
Who are group memberships for?
Group memberships are designed for households, businesses, nonprofits, schools and other organizations that want to provide Urban Milwaukee access to multiple people under one plan.
How many people can be included?
Urban Milwaukee currently offers three group membership tiers, each allowing a different number of additional members. Family memberships are targeted at those with two to four members. Organization memberships are available for those who want five or more accounts, with a price break for those who want at least 10 accounts.
How does payment work?
Payment via credit card allows immediate access. No waiting for an invoice or dealing with a salesperson.
How does account management work?
The account holder can add or remove child memberships at any point. Accounts can be created by sharing a special link, or the account manager can manually create an account.
I’ve already paid for an annual membership. Can I get a refund when I upgrade?
Absolutely. Email members@urbanmilwaukee.com after you’ve switched and we will refund the difference to your credit card.
Does each person get their own login?
Yes. Each member of a group receives their own individual access to member-only content and benefits.
Do those with group memberships get access to events, tickets and other giveaways?
Yes. Every group member is given a full individual membership.
