The screech that I imagine must have sounded when the hull scraped over the rocks must have been quite something. Thank you for bearing witness to this chapter of this Milwaukee moment.

This saga of Deep Thought is an excellent metaphor for Parks Funding! This will be over $50,000 down the drain because some Yahoo from out of state, with no marine training, decided to buy a boat. Our Parks are constantly threatened by under funding and here is one more reason why–now we are facing the reality of loosing part of our Parks for a residential project (McGovern Park). We must stop draining our Parks budget for private interests (Yes, including the ball park and FiServe forum).

As a county tax payer, I request the bill be sent to the boat owners. They caused the problem, they should pay for the clean up.

  4. ELLEN FREDERICK says:

The County could sell the graffiti’ed side of the hull.

Some bar owner could fasten it to the side of their building & call the place DEEP THOUGHT (or maybe SSMINNOW?).

Great marketing potential, judging by how the saga drew the attention of the city for so many months.
