Why become a member of Urban Milwaukee?

Those who join have many reasons, but most have to do with the quality and quantify of the news coverage. They like what we do and want to make sure we have the resources to continue and even expand our coverage. And those members are often our best sales people. So why did they become members? Lets hear it in their own words:

I believe that every city should have a newspaper. In our town the Milwaukee Journal is evaporating before our eyes. I appreciate the great local news coverage of Urban Milwaukee and I think it is the most encompassing news about Milwaukee that is available. — Fred Bell

I prefer to read newspapers on paper…not on my computer.  I read paper versions of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and the New York Times every day.  I subscribe to the Milwaukee Business Journal; I listen to WUWM all day. And I still read and appreciate Urban Milwaukee first thing every day. Urban Milwaukee has by far the best and most thorough and interesting local coverage of any news source. And I forward more Urban Milwaukee stories to friends than any other news source.  — Jenann Olsen

We have worked in Milwaukee and lived in suburban areas over 50 years and love our city. Owning a condo for some years has heightened our knowledge, awareness and enjoyment of the city. Through East Town Association, we were introduced to Urban Milwaukee and became members, which brings us so much more information to learn, appreciate and contemplate about living in Milwaukee. — Wilson Perry

Urban Milwaukee is doing its best to fill a vacuum for local reporting and editorial that comes from hard, work – not canned opinion or aggregation. — Julia O’Connor

We moved Downtown and wanted to be a part of the community. Urban Milwaukee keeps us informed. – Michael Schulteis

For a long time before Urban Milwaukee was started, Bruce Murphy and Michael Horne were writing their own blogs. I was fortunate to have found them and followed them through their travels. When they landed at U.M. it was to continue reading their pieces.
    Urban Milwaukee has good bones.
