So we are taking an already overparked city, eliminating spaces for a day or two, spending time setting up and breaking down these PARK (ing) spaces to what end? Just asking. is this real grass? If so what happens to the sod once it is used? Personally it seems rather wasteful.
@just1paul – Couldn’t tell you what happened to the sod this year, but in years past it has been donated. Much of it ended up in Cathedral Square Park around the edge of the park where the Jazz in the Park crowd had worn the grass out.
Jeramey, That is cool if it gets donated. Thank you
@just1paul Here’s what happened with the sod last year http://cathedralsquarefriends.org/2018/10/03/new-sod-for-cathedral-square/ I’m the President of Cathedral Square Friends and we just didn’t have time to work out the details (plus the park is in much better shape this year thanks to last year’s sod) to install the leftover sod this year. But I intend to make sure we reuse as much as possible from Parking Day next year!
@Dave Reid That’s great. to read. I was just wondering.
