Where do you work and what makes your role awesome?

I work for ManpowerGroup in downtown Milwaukee. I support both the Community Investment and Diversity & Inclusion teams within our Human Resources department.

My role is awesome because it provides me with an avenue to meet with many new people. I not only have the opportunity to work with colleagues, leadership, and folks around the world, but I get to go out and engage with my community members. Part of my job is to find different volunteer opportunities for our staff to take part in; it’s very rewarding seeing the positive impact you’re making in the community.

How long have you lived in Milwaukee and what brought you here?

My family is originally from the Milwaukee area; I’ve spent parts of my childhood attending school in both Whitefish Bay and Grafton. Although, I completed my high school years in La Crosse, WI. What brought me back to Milwaukee was higher education; pursuing my communications degree at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. This fall will be my fifth consecutive year in this beautiful city.

[inarticlad]What do you love most about Milwaukee?

What I love most about Milwaukee is its history and culture. For a medium-sized city, Milwaukee has so much to offer. The Historic Third Ward is a favorite place of mine, so many shops and events to check out all year long. As the population of Milwaukee has grown, so has the culture. I truly love and appreciate how Milwaukee embraces and celebrates diversity. Throughout many different citywide initiatives and festivals, I’ve had the opportunity to connect and interact with individuals much different from myself. We’ve shared experiences and understandings on how we all walk through this world differently.

What is one word that you would use to describe Milwaukee?

Underrated

What local restaurant is at the top of your list?

Easy, Stack’d Burger Bar on 1st St. I’m always down for a good burger and I’m madly in love with their sweet potato fries. The atmosphere is awesome and the staff is always so friendly. If could eat there every day I would. Now if we’re talking brunch, it’s going to be Sweet Diner every time!

What is your favorite Milwaukee tradition?

It’s hard to just pick one but I would say either attending the different festivals in the summer or spending time at Bradford Beach playing volleyball. Summer is definitely my favorite season. It gives me a chance to get out in the community and check out everything around me. Music in Kadish Park is always a hit as well.
