Where do you work and what makes your role awesome?

I am an attorney at Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown, LLP (GRGB). As an associate practicing at a fifty year old firm, I have the benefit of being encouraged and mentored by the partners. I get to have the best resource right at my fingertips – the advice of seasoned attorneys with decades of experience.

How long have you lived in Milwaukee and what brought you here?

I moved to Milwaukee in 2014 for law school and upon graduation stayed in the city for my work. Milwaukee is a vibrant city with a lot to offer young professionals.

What is something that is missing from our community that you would love to see implemented?

I would like to see greater opportunities for school-aged children, specifically inner-city, to explore potential futures and careers. GRGB is involved in a summer program that brings a high school student in to the law firm environment; it’s inspiring to see young people discover a passion for the law, and something I believe there should be more of.

What is one word that you would use to describe Milwaukee?

Underrated. I am from the Madison area and went to undergrad in Minnesota so I have had many visitors come to Milwaukee that say, “I never knew how awesome Milwaukee is!” Locals know it and it’s about time that everyone else does, too.

What local restaurant is at the top of your list?

I am a big fan of Tandem on Fond du Lac. It has great food, a fun atmosphere and is a fantastic local spot. Their deluxe grilled-cheese is ridiculous. It’s definitely one of my top spots for work lunches.

What neighborhood do you live in and why do you love it?

I live downtown, on the east side. I love living there because it’s convenient and walk-able. I also enjoy that the east side is full of young professionals and movers and shakers. It’s an exciting area to be in.
