I can’t tell from the drawings, but isn’t the location of Los Paisa just going to be parking lot? What would be the harm in keeping this architecturally pleasing building and working it into this complex? Why do we have to tear down an attractive building and one with a cool history besides???

I wholeheartedly agree with emcd1954. This is a significant departure for Bayside – the developer would get more buy in from the community if they kept Los Paisa.
