Join Us at Gathering Place Brewing
Urban Milwaukee's latest Beer Bash features a private tour and a free beer at Riverwest's new brewery.
It’s one of the newest craft breweries in Milwaukee, with an award-winning homerewer turned brewery owner, Joe Yeado, who won 22 medals for his distinctive beers in 2016 alone. And it’s the delicious, thirst quenching location for the next edition of Urban Milwaukee’s Beer Bash nights. Yes, we’ll be gathering at Gathering Place Brewing Company at 811 E. Vienna Ave. in Riverwest on November 8th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. And we hope you can come.
The Riverwest-based brewery’s well-designed, 4,300 square-foot facility features an impressive array of brewing equipment and a tap room designed by their neighbors, Flux Design. Gathering Places serves 12 different beers, ranging from a Belgian Tripel made from Door County cherries to a dark rye lager.
Having been in business only a couple of months, the new brewery is rapidly scaling up the operation. They released two new brews last week, Friendly Debate Blonde IPA and Hopfen Dampf Bavarian Farmhouse Ale. The head brewer at Gathering Place is Corey Blodgett, a Wisconsin-native who most recently worked at Widmer Brothers Brewery in Oregon, and who works closely with Yeado.
Urban Milwaukee members will be treated to a free beer from Gathering Place and a presentation on the brewery’s operations. In addition, members will be able to meet Urban Milwaukee writers and socialize with other members. The brewery will be open only to Urban Milwaukee members during this time.
This is the third in a series of member-only brewery events Urban Milwaukee will be presenting. If you aren’t yet a member now’s the chance to give it a try. You can sign up here and for a mere $9 a month you’ll help support a publication you like and get a number of perks: a special, banner ad-free website offering a faster more streamlined experience and a faster photo browser; free tickets to various events (including Summerfest, the Wisconsin State Fair and Milwaukee Film Festival); and invitations to cool members-only events. Our latest event was a private cocktail hour at the Milwaukee ChopHouse in the Hilton Milwaukee City Center hotel.
And, of course, you’ll also receive invitations to our Bimonthly (more or less) Beer Bash, along with this added perk: Members can bring a guest to the event.
All attendees (and your guest, if you are bringing one) must RSVP here.
Once again, that’s Wednesday, November 8th, starting at 6 p.m. at Gathering Place Brewing Company, 811 E. Vienna Ave.
And new members can attend. You might try it for one month, have some beers with us and and enjoy the privileges of membership.
