  1. Milwaukee Native says:

Sykes would do well to be more discerning in using snark about “actual reporters.” He was once a member of that august tribe–before he completely sold out to be a shameless shill, mouthpiece and kingmaker for the Republican Party.

Having snared a temp job as a pre-election talking head for MSNBC, Charlie seems more likely to try to parlay his new national fame as a Never-Trumper into highly-paid speaking gigs and such. Running to be a “public servant” would cramp his style–and potential to cash in.

  2. Michael, This is an interest speculation about Siefert but let me suggest an emphasis/correction to your statement that ” judges usually sit these battles out.” I think that is a courtesy against a sitting judges, such as Siefert technically is, but I suspect he’s announced his pending retirement to friends — and at that point all bets are off. Judges crowd in to endorse candidates for an open seat. What you’re really suggesting is that Siefert’s friends know something we officially don’t

    Can Siefert ride a horse?

  4. Bruce Thompson says:

I note that despite Sykes’ snark (is he taking lessons from Trump?), the Siefert story was taken up by the Journal-Sentinel’s Dan Bice, who gives credit to Urban Milwaukee.

  5. Just a few brief notes –

Themes of fairness and equal justice are Judge Wales’ focus in this election:
    Campaign Announcement

    a) Judge Wales is a proud AFT 212 member and an MATC adjust faculty educator (since 1992).
    b) Judge Wales has won recognition for pro bono work and is a committed community activist
    c) Judge Wales is also active in his faith community: http://www.jewishchronicle.org/2016/06/17/fathers-day-five-things-i-learned-about-fatherhood/
