    Milwaukee seriously has no room to complain about the weather. Working in both NY and Chicago, you never see people needing skywalks. We walk to the train, wait for the train and walk to lunch in the cold and survive. Sure, there is a walkway system in Chicago, but it covers a very small section of the city and it’s a great selling point for people when choosing where to work.

    I lived at 811 E. Mason in the 1960s on the second floor. I stayed home from work one day to discover my cat would sit in the window and employees from Northwestern Mutual would greet her at lunchtime… she would meow and they would look up and great conversations would begin… I also remember waiting for my bus to work on a very cold corner a block away, the wind whipping in from the lake on below zero days, brrr…
