Not certain that Living Room = Bridge, the nautical term for the control area, aka helm or pilothouse.
I am pretty sure there is a picture of this house in the photography collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
I remember the ship house very well. My Grandmother lived on Qakland avel. Back in to 40s I remember having my father driver by the place on the way to and from Grandmothers house in his 1940 Chevrolet
How could the city buy this and make it a public structure? It seems a shame that a. They want so much for it and b.) it could fall into disrepair considering that you would have very little money to fix it up with that inflated mortgage. Seems like a landmark that should see open houses and maybe rent out for special events. A management company
