Marquette University‘s campus has no immunity to the apartment boom underway in Milwaukee. An 80-unit building is rising on the corner of W. Wells and N. 14th streets. Dubbed “Ivy on Fourteenth,” the project will include five different sized apartments: 10 studio, 10 one-bedroom, 45 two-bedroom, five three-bedroom, and 10 four-bedroom apartments. In addition, the first floor will include retail space.

The project, developed by The Opus Group and designed by Korb Tredo Architects, replaces a suburban-style strip mall building. As part of the marketing of the site, Opus references the 88 (“Very Walkable”) score the site receives. That score will continue to move upwards as developments like this one make the area around Marquette a lot more pedestrian-friendly.

For more on the project, see my colleague Dave Reid’s extensive past coverage.
