What is your job and its responsibilities?
I am part owner of Luxx Boutique. The role I play in the business is Visual Merchandiser/Buyer. I’m responsible for keeping our window display fabulous and also the floor set of the boutique. I also do the buying for our clothing department.
What is your favorite Milwaukee building?
My favorite building in Milwaukee is the Milwaukee Art Museum. The architecture is beautiful and it’s one of the most beautiful places in Milwaukee.
Do you see this as a good city for young people?
I think Milwaukee is a great city for young people to get a college education that would prep them for adulthood. We have great schools like UWM, Marquette, and Alverno. There’s potential for growth and opportunities to create your own business. It’s a great place to live.
What is your favorite Milwaukee event?
My favorite Milwaukee event would have to be Jazz in the Park. My friends and I frequently attend this event. It takes place right around the corner from my boutique so I can just walk over, get corn, a nice glass of wine, and enjoy the music when the weather is nice.
I’d like to see our Downtown/EastTown area thrive with unique boutiques and shops like Chicago and New York. I know we’re on a smaller scale but we have so much potential here for a fashion district. Look at BayShore. Why can’t we have a fashion scene similar, if not better? Let’s make that happen.
What neighborhood do you live in and what do you like about it?
I live in the Sherman Park neighborhood. The historic story, the character of the homes along with diversity makes a great neighborhood. I live across from Sherman Park where they have cool events in the summer time so its a pretty cool area.
