Thank you Grace La and James Dallman. I live at the Humboldt end of E. Pearson and walk your bridge many times a month in recovery from a medical issue….it womb of my street and my neighborhood . The urban swing playground is always busy from morning to night!!! You have enlivened and connected my neighborhood and turned an overlooked, unsafe and underutilized area into a hidden gem. Milwaukee misses you, but your legacy will live on and on!!!!!! Jenny Clark, former neighbor and friend.

I’m glad this particular shortcoming in the original design of this wonderful addition to the community has been addressed. I crossed the Marsupial Bridge countless times on walks and when bicyling when I still lived in Milwaukee. I don’t know if we have anything quite that cool in St. Louis but do at least have an excellent light rail system to travel on to key destinations. Bike and pedestrian paths were also retrofitted to one of our older Mississippi River bridges when it was overhauled in the last decade. Too bad the same couldn’t be done in regard to the upcoming Hoan Bridge project in Milwaukee. My sense is that the influential conservative talkers targeted it and very effectively shot it down. As a moderate, I agree with the conservatives on a number of issues, but the relative value of a bike lane on the Hoan Bridge did not happen to be one of them.
