We are now full swing into the colorful season of fall. We all love this time of year, with its bright oranges, mustard yellows, candy apple reds and deep purples. It is simply gorgeous living here in Wisconsin and witnessing the trees changing.

But being a makeup lover, there is also something else to love about fall: new makeup trends with every new season – some you may dislike and some you may love! Let’s see what you think. Here is a list of the Top 5 beauty looks for Fall 2012:

Makeup Trend #1: Deep-colored lips

Dark lips are all the rage right now hitting the runways and streets. Deep, sultry colors on your lips are stunning. If you are not the biggest fan of the bright red siren lips, maybe seeing this trend come through will be really exciting for you. It embodies that true essence of the rouge lipstick from the Roaring ’20s. This fall, you will find lip colors like deep purples, maroons, brownish reds and even burnt oranges that are all the rage right now.

Makeup Trend #2: Brown smoky eyes

Who can resist this look? A brown smoky eye is so beautiful and romantic looking. It is not too harsh and has an elegant softness to it. It is simply classic and never going to go out of style. This look is gorgeous on any eye color and is definitely functional from day into night.

Makeup Trend #3: Color-blocking eye shadows

If you love color-blocking your clothes, then you must check out how amazing it looks with your eye shadows. The photo on the left is more of your runway look. The photo on the right is an example of what would be a gorgeous evening look. It really displays the creativity that you can have when you play with your makeup. Popular colors this year are metallic blues, or green, grey and cobalt blue. Have fun and play!

Makeup Trend #4: Sketched Eyelashes

If you are fans of NBC’s The Voice, you’ll have noticed Christina Aguilera was modeling the new sketched eyelashes trend on her lower lash line. You will also notice that this look gives the idea that you have false, full lashes by over emphasizing the lower lash line. This is a very stunning look!

Makeup Trend #5: Weathered Cheeks

Who doesn’t love that fresh, rosy cheeked, just went skiing in Aspen look? Well, now you can have it any time with this very unique, trending look. It’s essentially an overexaggeration of blush on your cheeks, simple apply the blush in the apple of your cheeks and swoop up in a C motion around your eye. It really gives the skin a pop of color. Just be careful to blend it some so you don’t obtain that clownish look.

If you haven’t noticed, there are a lot of reoccurring trends from last year, but with deeper and richer tones for a look that’s more dark and romantic. They are really playing on the natural beauty of a woman and enhancing those great features such as lips, eyes, and cheekbones. One last rule of thumb: When deciding which look to try out, only go bold in one area. If you do a dark purple lip, try to keep your eyes light and natural, or if you decide to do a pop of color on the cheeks, keep the lips soft and natural.
