Shakespeare in Houston
Tom Strini interviews Mark Metcalf about spending a few weeks in Texas, acting in "Hamlet" and "Comedy of Errors" in the Houston Shakespeare Festival.

Mark Metcalf as Claudius in the Houston Shakespeare Festival production of “Hamlet.”
I left Milwaukee for a few weeks this summer and went to Houston to do some acting in the Houston Shakespeare Festival. I played Claudius in Hamlet and Egeon in The Comedy Of Errors.
Having certain preconceived notions about the state of Texas, I was surprised at how developed the theater program in Houston was; the students and actors from the BFA and MFA programs at the University of Houston were very impressive. It was certainly an interesting experience to perform outside in the Texas heat in front of 7,000 people at the Miller Outdoor Theatre and I had a great time doing it.So for this week’s podcast, I turned the tables a little bit and handed the podcast hosting mic over to Tom Strini and had him interview me.
