Tilts are tops

St. Louis band Tilts is another riff-tastic record in a great summer for rock 'n' roll.

Really… this summer has been so larded up with great new rock records that it’s just ridiculous, and here is another from a St. Louis band called Tilts. It’s a RIFFAPALOOZA, one right after another. Not the meatiest lyrical content, but whatever. Tilts is all about physical gratification; Dancing, head-banging, flannel-flying sweaty rock and roll (see also: great, glorious harmonies).

I’d bet it cost these guys an actual fraction of the literal million dollar sound they wave all over on these twelve tracks. Another bet I’d make is that these guys put on a BONKERS live show. Potential hits abound in the parallel universe where people like rock music so much that they play it on the radio all day and all night and Selena Gomez sings on cruiseships. “Mexiqo” is one of ‘em. Try driving and listening to this without sticking yer head up through the sunroof, arms reaching for the sun.

Hell yes! Glad you got down with the Tilts record, one of my favorites for the year.
