First time voters take to the polls
Mark Metcalf talks with six high school students, who will cast their very first votes in the historic recall election on June 5.
There is an election next week. As in every election, there will be a whole bunch of people eligible to vote for the first time in their entire lives. As you are probably aware, the majority of people who are eligible to vote choose not to do so. That is true of almost every election in this country. I wanted to find out what some of these first time voters thought about their newly acquired privilege.
To this end, I spoke with six high school students in the Milwaukee area—Max Lawton (Nicolet High School), Jordan Gaines (Milwaukee High School of the Arts), Ellen Sellers (Pewaukee High School), Eric Schabla (Rufus King International Baccalaureate High School), Laura Troshynski (Divine Savior Holy Angels High School), and Tommy Shafer (Pewaukee High School).
