TCD’s Guide to Charity Rides, Runs, Walks and more

By - May 7th, 2012 04:00 am

Run, walk, ride, roll, dash, swing and volunteer to raise funds for local charities this season. You’ll be doing something good for your community – and for you! Milwaukee’s many charity events are a great incentive to get fit and enjoy the outdoors. They’ll take you to the beautiful lakefront – sometimes to a summer festival – as well as to county and state parks, and through communities you may have never before explored within the city and beyond.

Often, a celebration with food and entertainment will follow. These are usually family-friendly events and may even have special kids’ activities. Unique t-shirts and other freebies are often included in the registration price. Be sure to register early, as some events have special early bird rates. If you’re not the athletic type, consider becoming a volunteer.
