Winterfest Begins!
So you love the holidays and even the look of winter in Wisconsin, but maybe not so much the whole snowbanks, freezing, desolation part? Well, we have good news for you and the kids.
Wednesday marked the beginning of a second year for the new Winterfest program inside the Frontier Airlines Center, complete with giant snow globes, a skating rink, carousel, light displays, ornament and cookie creations, and a whole lot more. For $5 a person ($16 for an all-inclusive wristband pass for rides, activities and skating), visitors get immersed into a family-centric winter wonderland. Each day features special live shows such as performers from the Milwaukee High School of the Arts, the Zoological Society and Science shows, magicians, plus live musicians and vocalists.
There are a lot of special events during the ten-day run including a “Milwaukee’s Got Talent” competition and a special night on Dec. 29 called “Winter Jam with Night Storm,” which is aimed at the high school set. On New Year’s Eve, they again re-open at 6:30 for a Family Fun evening until after midnight with a special ticket price that includes a show by Radio Disney in the first two hours.
