Alzheimer’s: Research and preventative intervention
As part of a continuing series looking at Alzheimer’s Disease, we talk with Dr. Piero Antuono, Director of the Dementia Research Center at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Dr. Antuono received his MD from the University of Florence Medical School in Florence, Italy, where he held residency until moving the United States, and eventually, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As one of the area’s top specialists in this particular field, Dr. Antuono offers his perspective on the gains being made in research and treatment of Alzheimer’s, and offers some insight into preventative and curative measures that are being utilized to slow the progress of the disease and improve quality of life — for patients and caregivers.
