Sure, June is well on its way, and with the advent of the first major festivals (PrideFest this past weekend, Polish Fest next weekend) and street parties (Locust Street Festival last weekend, Summer Soulstice on North Avenue this weekend), summer is officially here. Here’s our slightly belated guide to everything you can do this month, all over Milwaukee, mostly for cheap or for free, in our beautiful and robust parks system, from glow-in-the-dark golf to beach volleyball to tranquil garden strolls.

Lakeshore State Park
The park provides a unique urban oasis with recreational opportunities and amenities for all to enjoy. The 17-acre park includes a lakeside trail that connects to the Hank Aaron and Oak Leaf state trails. A 130 foot bridge connects the north end of the park to the Summerfest grounds and an extension of the land near the Marcus Amphitheater connects on the south.
