Prosecution is a step toward justice for Laylah

Yesterday was a good step in the right direction in the Laylah Petersen murder case. My hope and prayers have been—and will continue to be—with her family during this continuous process of holding those who committed this crime accountable.

I cannot thank enough the men and women of the Milwaukee Police Department, who worked tirelessly on this case and committed their expertise to gathering evidence for the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office to prosecute and hopefully convict those who are being brought to justice.
