14th District Alderwoman Marina Dimitrijevic is encouraging area residents interested in the redevelopment of Zillman Park (2168 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.) to attend a virtual community meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18. Representatives from the Department of Public Works and Bay View Neighborhood Association will be among those in attendance. Residents can register for the event, and learn more about the project by visiting https://engagemke.com/zillman-park.

“Having active, lively green spaces is a key component of creating an area where people want to live, work and play,” said Alderwoman Dimitrijevic. “Gathering ideas and input from residents on what they want to see become of this space is a crucial part of the process, and I’d encourage all those interested to attend the community meeting next week.”

The City of Milwaukee, in collaboration with Bay View Neighborhood Association (BVNA), is working to enhance recreational opportunities locally by redeveloping Zillman Park as a multi-functional and inter-generational public space. Additionally on May 18, a survey will be launched for residents to share further thoughts on the best uses and design of the City-owned park. It is anticipated that preliminary conceptual plans will be shared later this summer.
