WMSE’s 13th Annual Rockabilly Chili tickets to go on sale Monday, Nov. 24

Definitely one of the most popular fundraisers of the year, WMSE celebrates their 13^th Annual “Rockabilly Chili.”  This year tickets will go on sale on Monday with a special offer: buy four tickets and get the fifth one free. “We thought about how many people ask about ‘Rockabilly Chili’ and realized tickets to the event would make a great holiday gift, hence we are putting the tickets on sale significantly earlier this year,” said Station Manager Tom Crawford.

Rockabilly Chili is a competition that pits over 50 Milwaukee restaurants, cafes and caterers against one another to determine the city’s best chili. Attendees do the voting at the event. Awards are given to winners in five different categories: best meat, best vegetarian, most unique chili, best heat, and best vendor display/presentation. Rockabilly Chili’s presenting sponsor is Milwaukee Brewing Co. They will be serving three of their craft brews. This year the Milwaukee Fire Department will have an even bigger presence and the public will get to vote on which fire house makes the best chili.

Advance tickets are $12 and include 4 chili samples. With the special WMSE Thanksgiving promotion, the purchase of 4 tickets gets you 5 — plus the standard 4 chili samples per ticket. Additional chili sampling tickets can be purchased at the event for $1 each. Bring two or more non-perishable food items to donate them to the Hunger Task Force, and you’ll receive two additional sample tickets.

The 13th annual Rockabilly Chili will once again be the event of the spring.  We look forward to seeing each and every one of you there.
