1981 is the year WMSE became the anti-established free-form, pioneer radio you love. It is also the year bands like Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark were discovered at the left end of the radio dial. Therefore it’s only fitting that on Saturday, March 17 they play WMSE’s 37th Anniversary Celebration at Potawatomi’s Northern Lights Theater. Local favorite GGOOLLDD will open the evening.

“Every year just gets better for WMSE. We’ve supported, been involved with and debuted so much amazing music, shows and events; we are humbled to a part of such an incredible city. We will have more to announce but to have OMD be our anniversary headliner is personally a big deal for me and I am sure most early 80s music fans in the city,” stated General Manager Tom Crawford. “There are big changes coming to WMSE in 2018 and we can’t wait to share them with you.”

Besides WMSE’s anniversary concert on March 17th there will also be a special, “Friday Night Freak Show,” movie – This is Spinal Tap at the Times Theater on Friday, March 16. DJ Paul Host will spin songs from 1981. This classic mockumentary holds a special place for Milwaukeeans and music fans everywhere.
